KABUL, Afghanistan Two Taliban self-destruction bombers struck near an USA base in Kabul very early Wednesday, killing 2 Afghan guards in the heart of a neighborhood filled with foreign forces and embassies. The attack came in spite of increased security ahead of a Muslim holy day that last year saw one the capital's deadliest attacks. The bombers evidently suggested to target the American base however were spotted by security guards as they approached on foot. The guards fired on the assailants, killing them, however not prior to one of the vests blew up, said Gen. Mohammad Daoud Amin, the deputy rural police chief. Two Afghan security guards were killed and 5 civilians were injured in the morning explosion, he said. The blast reverberated around Kabul's Wazir Akbar Khan neighborhood. An alarm started going off at the neighboring U.S. Embassy, cautioning personnel to take cover.

Key:

  • Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
  • The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
  • The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).

Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
